Always one of our club’s most active members it was Paul Tiller who suggested that Cobham’s smart new eatery on Between Streets might make an ideal location for a new sort of regular Moleside meeting, over and above our monthly gatherings in Churchgate House.
The plan is very simple. A get together around coffee time when Moleside members can enjoy a chance to do nothing more than chat for an hour or two.
Putting the world to rights at The Coppa has now become a regular Moleside meeting feature in our club programme.

There is every indication that the trendy, youthful decor of these surroundings is helping provide popular opportunities for the less agile amongst us these days, who find ourselves with time on our hands, to enjoy some extra social activity.
From the modest cups of coffee and the occasional fruit juices that were ordered initially, several regulars have now been observed also selecting more substantial refreshment off the Coppa’s Breakfast Menu.
Practical topics tend to lead the conversations with recent discussions including the difference that the local Uber network is bringing to the lives of members who are no longer owners of cars of their own. And how resulting costs are actually producing considerable savings on what running a personal vehicle used to involve.

And several members are now making sure that their families are aware of the way the Moleside website can now keep them up to date on the club visits and activities that their elders have signed up to be part of – and just possibly forgotten about.
After each meeting at least one regular attender can be seen quietly advising Uber that it’s time to be picked up and taken home.
Those who would appreciate joining the group but who live some distance from Cobham might like to follow suit and give Chat at The Coppa a try.
