The Splendour of the Isabella Plantation

Thursday 20 May – The Splendour of the Isabella
Steve Mustoe led a colourful wander around the Richmond Park taking in first of all The  Isabella Plantation with its impressive display of Azalea and Rhododendron blossom and a few late bluebells.

Leave the plantation by the Bramble Gate the walk continued for another couple of miles heading across to Penn Ponds and then along the far bank of the smaller pond to join the main path leading up to the Royal Ballet School. The route took in open parkland and oak woodland back to the car park. No stiles and only one modest incline with plenty of options for any walker seeking to take a shorter route home than the one in Steve’s mind.  Not the warmest or sunniest of days but a timely reminder of the beautiful delights of Spring in England’s South East.  Thank you Steve.
